**Bootcamp begins Sunday, April 9th at 3pm**

Can’t make it to our Meet & Greets?

No worries! You can still join!  Come to class on Sunday, April 9th at 3pm or fill out our Bootcamp Sign-up sheet

When is it?

Our next Bootcamp starts on the afternoon of Sunday, April 9th, 2017.

Fresh Meat practices every Wednesday from 8pm-10pm and Sundays 3pm-5pm.

How old do I have to be?

18 years or older.  **If you are not yet 18, we do have a junior league – for more info email with the title “Junior Roller Derby”

When are the tryouts?

There are no tryouts for Fresh Meat!  We learn skating skills and some derby basics in Fresh Meat.

But I don’t know how to skate!

No worries! All skating abilities are welcome to Fresh Meat.  Many Worcester Roller Derby skaters didn’t know how to skate before joining the league.

I’m worried about getting hurt!

Derby is a contact sport.  Although there is a risk of injury, at WoRD we focus on safety, safety and more safety.  We don’t engage in any contact before any skater is ready and no skater participates in bouts or scrimmages until they meet the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association’s minimum skills requirements.

What gear do I need?

Before you start Fresh Meat, you will need your own skates and the appropriate protective gear.  Your Fresh Meat packet will remind you of everything you need, but the basics are a set of wheels, elbow and knee pads, wrist guards, proper helmet and a mouth guard.   We can educate you on where to purchase these.

What does this all cost?

All skaters pay monthly dues of $40

Who is leading this shenanigan?

Fresh Meat is led by veteran WoRD skaters who donate their time to teach folks skating skills and to inspire folks to love derby as much as they do.

I’m eager!  What can I do to get excited about derby before Bootcamp starts?

Skate:  You can begin skating at Skylite or any local roller rink! Not only is it good for you, it’s also FUN! The more you practice the things you will be learning, the quicker your body will start remembering.

Watch derby: The more that you watch, the more that you’ll be inspired and learn strategy. Check out the action here:

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have other questions! We’re more than happy to help out

Hi! We’re so glad you’re interested in watching roller derby! Currently, our season is still being sorted out so we don’t have set dates yet. As soon as our A and B teams are sorted out, we’ll begin scheduling that and will post it to Facebook. Thanks again for your interest, we hope we see you at a bout!
